Natural State Music is proud to teach the Music Together® curriculum, which includes an award-winning mix of original songs and traditional tunes from a range of musical styles, including folk, blues, jazz, and world music. The music is pitched just right for children's voices, and the arrangements are fun, sophisticated, and loved by children—and grownups!
What do Music Together® classes offer???
- Fully trained, registered Music Together teachers lead groups of six to twelve children and their parents or caregivers (nannies, babysitters, grandparents, or relatives) in forty-five minutes of music and movement experiences.
- Each weekly class offers a dozen songs and rhythmic rhymes, including fingerplay, small- and large-movement activities, and instrument play.
- Children and their adults have opportunities to create and improvise—making up new words to songs, offering movement ideas, making silly sounds, and sharing musical ideas from the family's play at home.
- The relaxed, playful, non-performance-oriented classroom setting respects and supports the unique learning styles, developmental levels, and temperaments of all participants, creating a strong sense of community.
- Tuition includes our semester music on CD, as well as downloads of all the songs and a free app to listen to the music on-the-go. Tuition also includes a full-color illustrated songbook and online musical resources, as well as access to the song notation for every song so you can play along on your own instruments at home! Our goal is for your family life to be infused with music!
Enjoy a different collection of Music Together songs each season for three years!
Music Together's twelve song collections are each identified by its own color, instrument name, and graphic— and are presented in a three-year cycle of four semesters per year (winter, spring, summer, and fall).
Music Together's Rhythm Kids® program (the "next step" after our Mixed Age classes) is presented in nine song collections— each identified by its own color, animal name, and rhythm patterns from around the world.
All sessions are non-sequential, so families may join during any semester and attend class for three full years before cycling back to re-experience the collections from their growing children’s ever-changing perspectives. Because music learning is cumulative, with children reaping developmental benefits that build over time, we encourage their participation for as many years as possible from infancy through the early elementary years.
